The EastWest Center to be awarded The Golden Laurel Wreath for contribution to theatre
The MESS Festival Head Office announced today that this year’s second recipient of the Festival’s Golden Laurel Wreath Award for Contribution to Theatre is Sarajevo’s EastWest Center. “It is our great pleasure to be able to announce that this award will this year be presented to an institution that, in an entirely novel, creative and courageous way, develops a theatre that provokes us, takes social problems head on, and presents a unique - and I can argue without a doubt – a revolutionary vision in theatre, not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also on a greater plane”, said MESS Festival Director Dino Mustafić on this occasion.
This special recognition will be awarded to the director and founder of the EastWest Center, and esteemed theatre professional Haris Pašović, in a ceremony on Monday, 19 October 2009 at 12 noon at the Meeting Point.
As part of the official program of the ceremony, audiences present will be able to see excerpts of plays produced by the EastWest Center, through a video screening of the film “Dreamers”.
