..And The Winner of this Year's MESS is...

The Jury of the 49th MESS International Theatre Festival, which includes  Gjergji Prevazi (Albania), Damir Zlatar Frey (Croatia),  Kinga Keszethelyi (Hungary), Elie Malka (France) and  Tatjana Šojić (BiH) will reveal the winners of this year's MESS Awards at midnight between 26th and 27 October at the Sana Conference Room at the Bosnia Hotel.

The best performance at the 49^th MESS International Theatre Festival will be presented the Festival’s Grand Prix, the Golden Laurel Wreath Award for Best Performance, by MESS Festival Director Dino Mustafić. A Golden Laurel Wreath Award will also be presented to the best director, best actor/actress at this year’s Festival. Furthermore, Silver Laurel Wreath Awards will be received by the best plays in the World, MittelEurope and Children Programmes.

The Jury will also present the best young actor or actress (under 30) with the Rejhan Demirdžić Award. The best young director at this year’s MESS will also be awarded, and will receive an award named after the founder of the MESS Jurislav Korenić.

Apart from the MESS Jury Awards, the official ceremony at the Sana Conference Room will also announce the winners of awards provided by the MESS’s media sponsors: the “Avazov zmaj” (Dragon of Avaz) Award, presented by the Dnevni Avaz daily newspaper,  the “Hrabri Novi Svijet” (Brave New World) Award, presented by the Dani Magazine, the Radio Sarajevo “Sound of MESS” Award, and the “Kjuč Tmače” (Key of the Tmača) Award provided by the Tmača Art Magazine.

The MESS Festival has already revealed the recipients of its most significant award this year: the Golden Laurel Wreath Award for Outstanding Contribution to Theatre, which was presented to Oskar Danon and to Haris Pašović’s theatre company, the EastWest Center.
